We transform community issues and challenges into actionable intelligence through rigorous research, strategic policy and program development, and comprehensive analysis that drives systematic change.
For 13 years, we have carried out the research behind program designs, funding cases, board decisions, and policy decisions for nonprofits, culminating in more than 150 reports submitted.

The record behind the work
We have produced over 150 research reports for community organizations on pertinent issues including homelessness, substance use, mental health, recidivism, immigration detention, and youth unemployment.
The work has informed program design, strategic planning, and funding decisions for the organizations that commissioned it. A GBA+ lens runs through all of it, because a policy or program that looks sound on average can still fail the specific people an organization serves.
A needs assessment that establishes the problem, who it affects, and the need for change and intervention
Environmental scans, to map the issues, stakeholders, and resources around a problem
Feasibility studies, to test whether an idea will work before you commit to it
Evidence and jurisdictional reviews, to gather what is known and what other provinces and cities have tried
Community consultations and surveys, to bring in the views of targeted population
Policy analysis, to weigh options and their trade-offs for a submission or a brief
Community organizations that want to show a funder that the need is real, are contemplating improving current services or programs, starting a new service or program, preparing a submission or policy position, or want to be informed about a topic of concern.
We work with community organisations across Winnipeg and Manitoba, including those serving people a province-wide policy tends to overlook.
